Still Cuba
Installation
95 x 100 x 525 cm
2019

Collaboration with the mechanical engineer Juan Oxel

Still Cuba is a project born during an artist-in-residency of two months in Havana. The installation is composed by a handmade machine that loops two circular paintings.
Almost like a traveling diary, this piece portraits the view of the tourist cliché through Cuban stereotypes and the representation of “the myth of authenticity”, pointing the lack of experience on the contemporary journey.

This project was shown in XIII Bienal de la Habana. Read a review here (ES) and here (ES)
